The Beatles

The Beginning

Singer and guitarist John Lennon formed a group The Quarrymen in Liverpool with some schoolfriends on March 1957. Then in July, Paul McCartney joined the group after they met the same month. The following February, George Harrison joined as lead guitarist after McCartney invited Harrison to watch.  After a few years, Lennon's schoolfriends left in 1960 and a new bass player joined, Sutcliffe. Later that year, Pete Best joined the band to become a drummer. He suggested to change the band name to "The Beetles", but it kept on changing. So finally in August, the band finally became "The Beatles".  Then in 1962, their drummer was replaced by Ringo Starr.
