John Lennon
John Lennon (John Winston Ono Lennon) was the starter of the group and was a vocalist and guitarist. In the mid 1950s he formed his first band called The Quarrymen (after Quarry Bank High School, which he attended) who, with the addition of Paul McCartney and George Harrison, which later became The Beatles . He was born and raised in Liverpool, England on October 9,1940. Sadly he was murdered by Mark Chapman on December 8, 1980. John was an English musician, singer-songwriter, pop star, composer, and recording artist.
